Confirmed in the October 8 build
- City of Dalaran became available for beta testing.
- XP from killing dungeon creatures increased by approximately 20%.
- A party XP issue involving higher-level players killing lower-level enemies was fixed.
- Classic looting behavior was restored for creatures that drop no loot.
- Fixes addressed visual flickering on large creatures and unintended long-distance pulls.
- Weapon swaps within the same global cooldown were restored for supported cases.
How to test dungeon XP responsibly
- Record the date/build, character level, party composition, and dungeon.
- Compare similar runs and similar enemy types; do not compare solo and group results as if conditions were identical.
- Track creature-kill XP separately from quest rewards. The published ~20% change refers to creature kills, not a universal increase to every XP source.
- Expect tuning to change before launch.
Questions still worth verifying
- Does faction access to Dalaran persist after later builds?
- Which NPC services are usable after the quest sequence?
- Do party composition or instance changes affect the run you are measuring?
Reports about Horde access and the city’s lore implications are still beta observations and discussion, not a confirmed permanent faction rule.
