Reservation window: October 27 through November 3, 2026. Blizzard's announced window is currently underway as of this guide's update date. Availability is first-come, first-served; a preferred name is not guaranteed.
1. Who can reserve names?
Blizzard's announcement says access is available to eligible players who purchase the WoW: Forever Digital Upgrade or Collector's Edition. It also lists pre-purchase of the Skyborne Heroic Pack, Skyborne Epic Pack or the limited-time Warcraft Forever Collection as qualifying access routes. Check the official product page and your Battle.net account before purchasing anything; benefits and eligibility should be confirmed directly with Blizzard.
2. How many characters can you create?
- You can create and reserve up to three characters total across all Rulesets.
- Characters cannot enter the game world until the November 4 launch.
- Names are allocated first-come, first-served, so prepare alternatives.
3. Understand the two-part name system
Forever characters use a first name and surname. Blizzard's naming explanation says the full first-name-plus-surname combination must be unique within a region. This means another character may share your first name if the complete combination differs.
4. Battle.net preparation
- Sign in to the Battle.net account that has the qualifying purchase or access.
- Open the World of Warcraft game version selector and choose WoW: Forever.
- Install or update the client if prompted.
- Open character creation, select your Ruleset and create up to three characters.
- Confirm each full name and Ruleset before finalizing. Keep a written list of backup first-name/surname combinations.
5. Regional start times announced by Blizzard
- Europe: October 27, 18:00 CET.
- North America: October 27, 1:00 p.m. PDT.
- Korea: October 28, 7:00 a.m. KST.
- Taiwan: October 28, 7:00 a.m. CST.
The reservation period ends November 3. This guide is a dated summary; if the client, account page or official announcement shows different eligibility or timing, follow Blizzard's current instructions.
