World of Warcraft: Forever enters beta today

Published September 17, 2026 · Updated September 17, 2026

The World of Warcraft: Forever beta begins September 17. This is the first major milestone for the game after Blizzard's BlizzCon 2026 reveals, and it gives AzerothMarket a new phase of source-backed information to track: systems, content, itemization, professions, and the evolving game economy.

What changed today?

Blizzard lists September 17 as the start of the Forever beta. The global launch is scheduled for November 4, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. PDT, with the first new raids planned to unlock on December 9. AzerothMarket will treat beta-era observations as provisional unless they are confirmed by authoritative sources.

The latest confirmed Forever structure

World & progression

Forever expands the original level 1–60 Azeroth with more than 1,000 new quests, new and reimagined regions, and a “found photographs” approach that keeps additions grounded in the original world's era.

Legacy progression and the new realmless structure

Legacy Points come from Legacy Challenges and are spent separately by each character in Legacy Trees. Blizzard says points are shared across alts, while each character develops its own trees. At launch, a character can spend up to 16 points, while players can earn up to 65 points toward the initial reward track.

Forever is also moving away from traditional individual realms. Published rulesets include Normal, PvP, and Roleplaying, with Hardcore planned after launch. Players can group, dungeon, and raid with others using the same ruleset; cross-ruleset grouping is not supported, and factions remain separate.

Race, class, and itemization updates

Skyborne is a new playable race beginning on Zephras Isle. Players choose Alliance or Horde; the published class combinations differ by faction, with Shaman available to Horde Skyborne and Mage available to Alliance Skyborne, alongside Warrior, Hunter, Rogue, and Druid options.

Blizzard has also described a broad itemization pass: every dungeon drop is being re-examined, hundreds of new dungeon drops are planned, unique dungeon boss items are blue quality, world-drop epics are improved, and hundreds of new rare-creature drops are being added. These facts describe the published design direction; AzerothMarket will not infer individual item stats, drop rates, or loot tables until they are source-backed.

What AzerothMarket is tracking next

Beta changes can alter details quickly. We are separating confirmed facts from provisional beta observations and will date important updates rather than silently replacing older records. The next database layers to expand are individual bosses, loot relationships, Blueprints, recipes, item records, quests, NPCs, currencies, and equipment—only when reliable source data is available.

Blizzard's September 17 Forever Live Q&A is another key source for this phase. The official schedule lists the Forever segment at 10:30 a.m. PDT on September 17, with the recording available afterward.
